Ingol and Tanterton December 2025 - Monthly Updates #YOUSAIDWEDID |

Good afternoon all,
The countdown is on; it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and Santa Claus is not the only one preparing for his busiest time of year.
Preston Police including us, your local neighbourhood policing team are also gearing up for our busiest time of year as the festive season gets into full swing and certain offences do tend to increase namely burglary and vehicle crime. Throughout December and into early January, you can expect to see an increased police presence as we look to spread some festive cheer, engage with the public, and keep everyone on the right side of Santa’s list.
What have we been up to? We have had yet again another busy month trying to be out and about in the community as much as possible. It has been lovely to see so many people on our travels stopping us, giving us positive feedback and importantly letting us know of the issues affecting you guys.
This month saw our week of action designated to Op Spectre, a national initiative in the UK aimed at reducing knife crime through coordinated police action, community engagement and prevention strategies. We undertook lots of activity in and around the local area. We recovered a knife from around the location of Ingol Labour Club on Whitby Avenue, we conducted numerous school inputs and youth inputs, and conducted numerous knives sweeps around grassed areas including the Ingol Dip, Dovedale Park and Tanterton Playing Field. Thankfully no knives were found along these routes, but this is something we shall do again in future months. For more information and to find out where your local knife bin is, click here
Over recent weeks we have seen a small increase in the number of motorbikes being stolen and attempted to have been stolen overnight during darkness. Areas reported through to us are around Hollinshead Crescent, Barry Avenue, Cottam Avenue, Starling Drive and Ashbourne Crescent. All the bikes have been recovered, (2) two of which have been recovered around Ribbleton. We have been out completing CCTV enquiries along with House-to-House enquiries and developing intelligence relating to this hopefully with some positive results. In the meantime, however, if you have a bike, please consider taking these simple steps to help prevent the theft of your motorcycle. It can take seconds for a thief to steal a motorcycle or scooter if it is unprotected. Our advice for 🏍️ Motorcycle owners is to TRACE, LOCK AND COVER. Install CCTV – Monitor your home and property
We have been continuing our efforts in tackling road related issues which many members of the community have highlighted as an issue of concern both directly to the neighbourhood team and on the Lancashire Talking Surveys. Throughout this month we have conducted some speed check points along TAG LANE. During this we have arrested one driver for failing to stop, driving without insurance and driving with no licence on Creswell Avenue. Another driver was arrested for drink driving, and a further motorist had his vehicle seized along TAG LANE due to the manner of driving which fell fall below the accepted standard. We will continue to tackle road safety issues. Speeding and drink/drug driving can ruin people’s lives, including your own. #YOUSAIDWEDID
Dates for the Diary With Christmas fast approaching we see a lot more bikes bought and gifted as presents. Your neighbourhood team have set up a series of bike marking events for you to attend and get your bike registered. Registering on BikeRegister by one of your local team means you could be reunited with your bike in the event of it being stolen. I will send a separate message out nearer the time as a reminder, but if you can’t make either date please get in touch, and I can happily come out to you and mark the bike. Location – UCLAN SPORTS ARENA at COTTAM When – Sunday 21st December 2025 between 4pm and 6pm and then again on Friday 9th January 2026 between 4pm and 6pm.
Thanks as always and hope to see you at the PACT meeting this evening, 6.30pm at Tanterton Village Centre on Kidsgrove.
